Moving hosts and more.

I'm still slowly catching up on show-notes here on the blog, and there will be some for Episode 73 later today. But I thought I'd give the few that read the blog an update on some things:

  1. We are moving hosts! Well, effectively we already have. We going to be hosting the how on Podbean, moving from Soundcloud. Soundcloud is great for music, not for podcasts. It was adequate, and it did get an alright job for us for sometime, but the site is not catered to podcasts like Podbean, or Lybsin, or Bluberry or several other hosting sites are. I decided to go with Podbean because it seems fairly stable, gives us advertising options (sorry, it's eventually going to happen to cover the cost of upgrades, and hosting), and has the potential for opening up other platforms for us down the road. We will continue to upload new files to Soundcloud, but no longer will the back log be found there after September. Podbean seems like a great choice for us, and a lot of fantastic podcasts host on Podbean. Like I said we'll continue to put up new episodes on Soundcloud after September, but they'll only remain there for a few weeks, so if you do subscribe to us on Soundcloud, please consider subscribing to us on Podbean (iTunes, and other platforms should not be affected). But you can find us on Podbean here: https://relevant2rinterests.podbean.com/
  2. YouTube! So we have the YouTube channel, but haven't posted anything in about 3 almost 4 months. My lady was doing the video editing for us, and she was having some major computer problems, she still is. Her lap top hasn't completely given up, but she's become frustrated with the process, and so we are holding off. I may do some rudimentary videos of our most recent back log, but those will consist of the title thumbnail only, and not involve any fun images. John has a computer that he is going to give us that was built not long ago, so we will have that upgrade coming, but it won't happen until John and I are actually able to see each other, which should be in about a month.
  3. This blog! We are going to continue to keep this going. I will be going through and slowly replacing the Soundcloud embedded players with Podbean. I'd also like to start doing written reviews again. I've done a few, but time is a very difficult beast to nail down. I'll not set goals yet, but you can at least expect to see continued posts on each episode here, as well as the occasional random post on certain topics.

That's it for now. John and I will be looking at a few animated series over the next couple of months before we switch gears to horror movies at the end of September through October. So stay tuned for that, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Podcast update!

John and Frank have had a weekend full of technical and personal dilema. We tried to record our next podcast on Bob's Burgers Sunday evening, but alas our technology betrayed us. It'll be another week before we can give it another shot so later this week Frank will be releasing a Shortcast on the film Miller's Crossing.
Should be fun.
Stay tuned.

Episode 22 Year in Review

Episode 22: Year in Review
Hosts: Frank Shaw and John Belliston
Produced by Hobos in the Back Row
Scripting by Frank Shaw and John R. Belliston
Edited by: Frank Shaw
Graphic Design by: Nathan Newell
Intro Music: Piano Sonata mvnt 1 by F.G. Shaw
Outro Music: Piano Sonata mvnt 3 by F.G. Shaw

Here's what we got for this episode better late, then never:

Nintendo may be moving back to cartridges. I've just checked again (as of 6/3/16) and have found nothing to contradict this yet. Maybe something will come to light around E3, or not considering Nintendo is rumored not to have much of a presence during the conference.  If you've listened to the podcast already then you already know that I'm [Frank] keen on the idea. I guess we'll wait and see.

Trying Hearthstone? Check out some deck guides.

Variety's article on Agent Carter's cancellation. It's sad, but at least we'll be able to add it to the growing collection of the MCU.

Supergirl? John and I haven't actually watched this yet, but I'm looking forward to checking out the first season when it hits Netflix. DC's television franchises have been solid affairs, even while their movies are lackluster and mediocre.

Next episode will hit early next week on Captain America Civil War. Shoot us a message on Facebook, on Twitter @lojakz or shoot as an email at relevant2rinterests@gmail.com

Next episode: Dead Pool on the 7th!

Due to the difficulties we had with the David Bowie podcast, and the long delay in releasing it, we won't be releasing a second podcast this month as we had planned. Also, our next episode will be on Dead Pool, and likely there will some more discussion on absurd-ism a bit as well. That will release the 7th of March and the Kaiju episode will be coming later in March. So stay tuned!

Hey folks! Just a little update. Due to some amazing technical issues (Frank screwed up), our next episode won't hit on Monday as our normal schedule would dictate. (We actually have a semi-normal schedule!) Instead it will be postponed until later in the week. We're still discussing David Bowie of course and we have our regular contributor Aubrey Spivey and our good friend (and a bit of a Bowie expert) Tom Sherlock with us well. So stay tuned!

New episode on Monday.

John and I just recorded Episode 15 on Marvel's Jessica Jones. We're excited to have our friend Matthew Ivan Bennett join us on the discussion. The episode drops next Monday.

Yet another week with no review.

This week there is no written review.

Monday evening the new episode will release, a solo podcast with Frank rambling about Stanley Kubrick.

Friday a written review of James and the Giant Peach (directed by Henry Selick) will release.

December: The Nightmare Before Christmas and Jessica Jones.

No review this week.

Howdy folks.
Little bit of an update: unfortuantly there's no review this week. Life outside the podcast has been intensely, and surprisingly busy this past week, and there was simply no time to focus on it.

The next podcast has been recorded, and will be published on Monday. On it, John and I are joined by D'Artagnon Wells where we continue to discuss the popularity of zombies on television and delve into the BBC 3 series In the Flesh.

The reviews will continue next week, and we'll be moving away from zombies and horror.

So till next week!

New Podcast coming soon.

In a couple days our new podcast will hit. John and I discuss bad adaptation movies: I review the Fantastic 4, we talk about cinematic tofu Nicholas Cage, and give our thoughts as to why bad adaptation happen all while bemoaning the terrible films we've seen for this podcast.

Fantastic 4... Sad.

Our upcoming podcast, releasing next week, is on bad adaptations. John has been eagerly watching the Joel Schumacher Batman films. I went to see the new Fantastic 4 movie... I'm going to save my full review for the podcast, but I'll just say that the film made me sad. On so many levels.

Mass Effect coming Monday!

It looks like the our Mass Effect Trilogy podcast is going to be pushed back to Monday. Frank's diligently working away to get it ready between fits of sleep and bouts of work.

Stay tuned!
